Today at work I waited on an old couple. I had been called on the intercom to go to Jewelry to help out another associate. The lady was sitting on one of those walkers you can fold up.
I went up there and the lady needed three watch batteries changed. The lady noticed my name tag and asked if my name was Emily, and I told her yes. She said that had been her mothers name.
I continued to work on her watches and I noticed she had put her head down and covered her face, her shoulders were shaking. Her husband bent over to her and was whispering what was the matter.
She whispered in his ear, Mama, and kissed him on the ear, she pulled out a tissue and began wiping her eyes and cheeks, and all that time I was just thinking how it never goes away.
How the pain of losing your mother, will always be with you.
I love you Mama.
